SUBMISSIONS

Fig 3.1 Final Project Proposal, PDF, Week14 (31/7/2024)

Before start this final project, I made project proposal. My working title is “A fisherman with weird fish". I did pre-shooting before actual shooting because I want to know how my materials working in the screen. After pre-shooting, I decided final plans for camera angles and lightning. My materials (SE, jpeg seq, and so on) are in my proposal slide and my google drive folders.

Fig 3.2, 3 Stop motion setting and materials, Week13 (17/7/2024)

This is my setting environment and materials. I chose clay puppet for main character because I had three clay box in my room. It was really enjoyable time for me to make stop motion materials by myself.

Fig 3.4 Editing in Premiere Pro, Week13 (18/7/2024)

After taking all scenes in studio, I started editing in Premiere Pro. Merge all sequences into one and put sound effects in proper scenes.

Fig 3.5 Add more effects, Week13 (18/7/2024)

After finishing basic edit, I add some effects in my video to make it more worth to watch. I added title in first scene because I want to make it like old animations for child.

Fig 3.6 Delete backgrounds in After Effects, Week14 (25/7/2024)

From Week13 feedback, I delete background in my video. It is because the original background was not working and it may break viewer’s immersive experience. I think my video improved by this process.

FEEDBACK

Week12 (10/7/2024)
The background needs extra stuff like simple boards or something because if there is no background, it may break viewers immersive experiences. So you should bring simple blue board as a sky.

Week13 (17/7/2024)
The background still needs editing because there are a lot of uncomfortable points in the boards. If you want to edit it, use After Effects.

REFLECTIONS

In this task, I could do my best in shooting and editing. Also I could make more attractive scene than the story board. For example, I made two scenes that the protagonist (fisherman) show some stuff to viewers. First is a fish which fisherman catches. And second is a bow which fisherman create. I focused to make the natural eye and body movement because these are the scenes that I want to attract viewers. As a result, the detailed move working well in the video and it makes friendly and comical impression for the protagonist.
In week14, I deleted all background in my video and replace it with sky image. I know the original background is too messy and it may cause viewer’s uncomfortable feelings, but I didn’t know how to fix it. Lecturer also feels it by my video and show me how to fix it in After Effects. It was really easy to fix and this process make my video more worthy. I am really satisfied with the result and I could get good experience of photo shooting and animations.
