WORK PROGRESS
From week2 class, we make a group and try to find a theme to make infographic animation as a goal. We decide to go with the "Sleep deprivation" theme. My teammates gathered the information about how lack of sleep affect human body.
I referred the informations in the webpage of Japanese famous medical company, Taishouseiyaku. It shows how the food we took in daily life and the numerous nutrition may affect the quality of your sleep.

Based on what we researched before start visualisation, we did presentation in Week4 class. Unfortunately, we couldn't decide the final animation outcome or storyboard at this time, however, the lecturer are fine with this theme. We are proceed with this direction.

Since we all have no time to do the meeting, we missed some weeks to work. However, we could divide a role and start working with it individually. I will do 2D animation part in this project.

I started visualise character in Illustrator and import each body parts png into AfterEffects. The character design is based on the teammate's storyline. The character with coffee cup is named Alex, which has poor sleep and couldn't fully open his eyes because he is always sleepy. On the other hand, second character named Sam is powerful, having energy because he took good sleep.

After I get 3D background from teammate, combine them in one scene. In week6 feedback session, lecturer suggested me to change the app to Premiere Pro because AfterEffects takes a lot of space. After I change the working app to Premiere Pro, I could get more easy & smooth animation with saving the space.

I watched some lecture video on Youtube to get smooth animation in Premiere Pro. The most useful technique I got in here is the animation of pie chart and bar graph. I could set the starting point freely, and it made me more creative in animation.

While doing the work in Premiere Pro, I made the background as transparent because these scenes are combined with other project in the later stage. Choose Quicktime> Video Codec> Animation> 8bpc+α.

I put 2D assets and animation scenes in Google drive. I made 2D assets in Clip Studio for iPad, editing animation in AfterEffects and Premiere Pro.

FEEDBACK
Week6 (14/3/2025)
General&Specific Feedback... If you want to edit the animation more than 10 seconds, especially you edit the audio at the same time, try to use Premiere pro.
Week7 (21/3/2025)
General Feedback... Your team name should have more unique name, not Group1 section 3 Fri or something. This subject is for showing information effectively, so it is not a illustration or 3D module. You should make sure your information hierarchy is proper and viewer could understand it clearly.
Specific Feedback... As the last week feedback, the animation is working well in Premiere pro. Your editing should be in there.
REFLECTIONS
Throughout this project, there were many things to reflect on. First, I regret that the lack of communication among group members resulted in an unbalanced workload despite the division of roles. I was in charge of 2D animation, but I did not expect to be in charge of 2D assets at the same time, and it was my fault that it took me so long to start working on them. However, I have been able to master the technique with the primary goal of communicating information more clearly. This was one of my goals since the beginning of this class, and I am happy that I was able to acquire the skills and learn from them.
Since we were doing group work concurrently this semester, I believe that our small team had more difficulty in dividing the workload than other groups. Even so, I think we did the best we could as individuals.
